CAMBRIDGE, Wis. — A meeting is scheduled for March 4 to discuss the Highway 12 corridor in Dane and Jefferson counties, according to a release.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is conducting a safety and operational study of Highway 12 from County Highway N in Dane County to Highway 26 in Jefferson County, officials said. The study examines the environmental, social and transportation conditions along Highway 12. The study will also make operational and safety analyses to guide strategies and recommendations geared toward improving the corridor.
A plan has been developed that is geared towards keeping the existing two-lane highway for as long as possible, according to the release. An access management plane and several intersection improvement recommendations have been created to address current and long-term safety and operational issues.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions. Maps showing proposed improvements will be displayed at the meeting.
The meeting is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at the Cambridge Elementary School at 802 Water St. in Cambridge. A presentation will be given at 6:30 p.m.
