Meet the ‘RV Jedeye’

David Lee used to watch others online having fun on their RV trips and wish that was him.

He’d say to himself, “One day I’m going to do this.” Now Lee is on the other side of those videos, documenting his travels, meals and renovations since he bought his first RV in July 2016.

Lee, who is the news director for WFRV in Green Bay, goes by “RV Jedeye” online, posting helpful or inspirational videos, photos and writeups on YouTube, Instagram and his blog, rvjedeye.com.

In February of 2017 Lee started a full interior renovation — all of which he documented on season two of his RV Jedeye videos. He’s now working on season six. He takes his 24-foot RV with two slide-outs all over Wisconsin and beyond.

Lee has lived throughout the United States, moving to Wisconsin in November 2019. Once he arrived in this colder climate, he ran into new challenges, like winterizing his camper. He says he still watches RV videos others make and learns from his commenters, too.

“Part of the reason I did the RV channel was because when I first started to look into getting into RV-ing, I looked at every YouTube video I could find, from how to buy it to renovation and all of that. So I knew once I got an RV I wanted to kind of do the same, and share it, pay it forward if you will,” he says.
