Medical Examiner identifies Blue Mounds jogger killed as ‘result of homicidal violence’
MADISON, Wis. — Authorities have identified the Blue Mounds man found dead alongside a rural road in Dane County.
The Dane County Medical Examiner ruled Nicholas Day’s death as “the result of homicidal violence.”
Dane County deputies initially believed Day, 26, was the victim of a hit-and-run crash.
His body was found in County Highway JG near Bergum Road in the town of Blue Mounds.
Anyone in that area between 12:45 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. Wednesday is asked to call the Dane County Communications Center’s non-emergency line at 608-255-2345 or the tip line for the Dane County Sheriff’s Office at 608-284-6900. Callers can remain anonymous.
Friends have started a GoFundMe account to help his family with funeral expenses.
