Mearl E. Brenneman
JANESVILLE—Mearl E. Brenneman, age 79, of Janesville and formerly of Milton, died on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Cedar Crest Assisted Living, Janesville. He was born in rural Wellman, IA, on February 3, 1933, the son of Erlis and Martha (Marner) Brenneman.
Mearl married Marsha Reid on June 12, 1954, in Dubuque, IA. He worked for General Motors until his retirement in 1993, and was a member of UAW Local 95 and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; 3 children: Merlene (Tom) Thomson and Peggy (Willie) Lipke both of Janesville and Jane (Tom) Chesmore of Milton; 4 grandchildren: Rachel (Chris) Thorp of Milton, Sarah Lipke of Janesville, Amanda Chesmore of Milton and Jessica Chesmore of Milton; 3 great-grandchildren: Kendall Thorp of Milton, Jordan Chesmore of Milton and Dylan Muzik of Milton; 3 sisters: Leta Schneider of Kalona, IA, Arlene (John) Snyder of Kalona, IA and Lucine (Ted) Morrison of West Branch, IA; a brother, Dayle (Lea) Brenneman of California; and brother-in-law, Jack (Jane) Reid of Salem, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton with Msgr. James Uppena officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milton. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, June, 3, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville.
