McFarland falls in Div. 2 softball semifinals, 6-0
Mosinee shuts down Spartans on five hits
MADISON — Mosinee pitcher Rochelle Koshalek pitched a complete game five-hitter as the Indians defeated McFarland 6-0 in a WIAA Girls Softball Division Two semifinal at Goodman Diamond in Madison Thursday night.
Mosinee scored in the first inning on a double by Autumn Michlig and Koshalek made it stand up.
Mosinee added four in the fourth and another in the fifth for the final margin of victory.
Bailey Schultz and Kelsey Ludwig both had three hits and two RBI. Michlig went two-for-three with an RBI.
Claire Johnson and Danielle Halverson paced McFarland with two hits apiece.
Spartans starting pitcher Kayla Easland pitched three-and-two-thirds innings allowing seven hits and five runs, one of which was earned.
McFarland ends the season with a 24-3 record.
Mosinee will play New London in the Division Two championship game Saturday afternoon at 3 at Goodman Diamond
