MCF grant will expand library program to community centers
We continue our year-long partnership with the Madison Community Foundation’s Year of Giving celebrating MCF’s 75th Anniversary with news of the fourth of 12 monthly, major grants.
This one goes to the Madison Public Library’s Bubbler Makerspace Program to enable the program to partner with 13 area community centers to help young people get access to and use maker kits.
Maker kits and spaces are all about creating objects from a variety of materials. 3-D printers may be the best known example. But there are many others limited only by our imaginations.
This is about preparing young people for work and entrepreneurship in an innovation economy.
We love that it includes libraries and community centers because MCF’s 75 years include important support for both. Thanks MCF, for celebrating our assets: our libraries, our neighborhoods, our creativity and our children.
