McCarthy, Packers participate in celebrity golf tournament
Event raises money to battle cystic fibrosis
GREEN BAY, Wis. — With more team activities just a few days away, the Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy and some of his players gathered to raise money for a good cause on Monday.
This was for McCarthy’s annual celebrity golf tournament, which was held at Green Bay Country Club, to help the fight against cystic fibrosis.
McCarthy said he’s not much of a golfer, but his presence is greatly
appreciated no matter what his final score would be.
McCarthy said he believes it’s important for he and his players to have days like this to get away from work a little.
“It’s very important to get away from football because
the families of professionals, it’s a challenging lifestyle, so it’s
important to spend time with your family, but it’s also, like today’s
event, it’s very important to give back. So, we feel very blessed to
contribute in the battle against cystic fibrosis,” he said.
The Packers will have another organized team activity later this week.
