Mayor Soglin says he will ‘most likely’ run for governor in 2018
MADISON, Wis. — Madison Mayor Paul Soglin says he will “most likely” run for governor in 2018, according to the Capital Times.
Soglin told the Capital Times he will make a formal announcement early next year because he wants to see the city budget formalized and adopted in early November and then wait until after the holidays to make the announcement.
“I’ll have an announcement after the first of the year and it is most likely I will run,” Soglin said to the Capital Times.
Roughly a dozen Democrats have either launched their campaigns, or are considering running, to challenge Walker. The primary is in August and the election is one year and a day after Gov. Scott Walker’s Nov. 5 launch .
