Mayor helps kick off 24th annual Madison Bike Week

MADISON, Wis. — Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway helped kick off the city’s 24th annual Bike Week by riding around the State Capitol Tuesday morning.

Every year, Madison Bike Week celebrates riding to work, to the grocery store, to a park, to the library — or just for fun.

This year’s events feature pop-up bike stations with free snacks and bike checks, along with movies, organized bike rides, and special Bike Week offers from local businesses.

The mayor says she’s happy the city is so bike-friendly.

“Madison is consistently recognized as one of the most bike-friendly cities in the United States and we are proud of that, but we are not resting on our laurels,” Mayor Rhodes-Conway said.
