JANESVILLE—Maurine Benish, age 75, of Janesville, died on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. She was born in Janesville on March 6, 1937, the daughter of Clarence and Eileen (Burke) Schumacher. She married Clifford A. Benish on January 24, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Janesville and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2003. Maurine worked as a Registered Nurse for Mercy Hospital and Rock County Health Care Center. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid traveler, going to Casino’s and socializing. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church, Janesville.
She is survived by her 4 children: Roger (Jacqueline) Benish of Glen Falls, NY, Karen (Michael) Miller of Madison, Ronald (Sarah) Benish and Brian (Julie Dahlgren) Benish both of Janesville; 7 grandchildren: Alexander, Jonathan, Briana, Zachary, Jennifer, Jessica and Jacqueline; brother, Richard (Helen) Schumacher of Janesville; and a sister, Charlotte McWilliams of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Prestin; and a sister, Isla Schumacher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012, at St. Williams Catholic Church, Janesville with Fr. John Auby officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Janesville. Memorials may be made to St. Williams Catholic Church, Janesville or St. Elizabeth’s Manor, Footville.
