Masked men target victim, force their way into home, officials say
MADISON, Wis. — Officials believe a home invasion Sunday afternoon in which three men wearing winter face masks pushed their way into an east side home was targeted, according to a release.
A 23-year-old man was inside the home in the 800 block of Fairmont Avenue around 3:10 p.m. when the men knocked on his door, according to the release. The victim said at least two of the men were armed with handguns.
The victim was able to get out of the house and go to a neighbor’s home, where he called 911, officials said.
The bedroom of a man who was not home at the time of the burglary appears to have been targeted by the intruders, but it is not known if anything was stolen, according to the release.
Investigators believe the burglary was not random.
