Mary Agnes Deering
Madison-Mary A. Deering, age 82, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Oak Park Place Memory Care surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 25, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI. She was adopted by very loving parents, Andrew and Nora (Willadsen) Derra. Shortly after Mary chose her sister (Elizabeth) from the same orphanage. Mary was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Deering on August 6, 1955. Mary was a licensed cosmetologist, worked for Felly’s flowers for 14 years and is a charter member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Deering; her 3 sons, Rock (Mary) Deering of Sun Prairie, WI, Randy (Cheryl) Deering of Madison, WI, and Scot (Cindy) Deering of Waunakee, WI; her grandchildren, Rad (Holly), Kai (Stephanie), Amyra, Andrew, Troy, Zachary and Nicholas; a sister Betty (John) Horan of Minnesota; a special niece, Megan (John) Horan-Hengel; a great-niece, Lauren; and her lifelong friends Dyanne and Don Meicher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Nora Derra.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Msgr. Schluter officiating. A visitation will take place at the church on Thursday from 10am until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Southern Wisconsin.
