Marvin Neil Peterson
Marvin N. Peterson passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014. Marvin was born May 16, 1934 to Paul and Margaret Peterson in Soldiers Grove, WI. He married Kea Soldatos on February 28, 1959. Together they raised a beautiful family.
Marvin served in the US Navy and the Naval Reserves. He retired as Commander of the Naval Reserve Center and received medals for his work with the center, as well as for the Korean Conflict, National Defense and Good Conduct Medal. He retired in 1990 from Dane County where he was Operations Manager for the Dane County Coliseum. A job he was very proud of. He met many good people during his years with Dane County. His last adventure was going on the Badger Honor Flight on October 18, 2014 which he thoroughly enjoyed. Most of all his family was the most important part of his life. He loved his wife, daughters and grandchildren unconditionally.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Margaret Peterson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Kea, his daughters Vicki (Donald) Hagen, Kari (Ross) Anderson, Paula (David) Johnson and Sandra (Todd) Johnston. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lindsay, Joshua, Andrew, Jennifer, Kea, Kyle and his best buddy Nicholas. His siblings, Pauline (William) Banta, Phyllis (Dalee) Applebee, Doug (Delores) Peterson, Jerry (Sharon) Peterson, Jim (Toni) Peterson and Sandra Knotwell, along with many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Heritage Senior Living and St Mary’s Hospital for their care of Marvin.
Funeral services were held December 31, 2014.
