Martha Ortiz Green
Martha E. “Kitty” (Ortiz) Green, age 43, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her fiancé Chano Rosales and her beloved four childred Gavin, Marquez, Nathan and Amara. She was born on Aug. 31, 1969, in Wautoma. Martha was an East High School graduate and worked for Oscar Mayer for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, walking, and spending time with her newest edition, the family dog, Chula. Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer on Aug. 8, 2000, but went into remission in 2003. However, in 2005, the cancer returned having metastasized to her bones and other organs. For this, Martha will be remembered as a fighter. Her family will remember her as a wonderful mother who meant everything to her kids and to many beyond the family circle.
Martha is survived by her fiancé; children; parents, Ramon and Martha Ortiz; siblings, Eliza (Byron), Ramon (Mary Ann), Mirtha, Perfecto (Patricia), and Jose (Gabriela). She is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Ramon Ortiz III, Lilliana Ortiz, Camilia Ortiz and Logan, other relatives and many special friends. Kitty was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Pierstorff; and great-grandmother, Beatrice Schwartz.
Funeral services for Martha will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Rd., Fitchburg, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services on Wednesday.
