Marshall girls basketball team advances to championship game

The WIAA girls basketball state tournament kicked off Thursday at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

The Marshall Cardinals defeated Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau 58-37. Four Marshall players scored in double digits. Ceraya Morel had 17 points, Mia Morel and Bailey Neuberger contributed 11 apiece and Anna Lutz added 10.

Marshall will face Laconia in the Division 3 state title game Saturday, March 9, at 2:30 p.m.

More local teams will play in semifinal games Friday at the Resch Center.
In Division 1, Middleton will face Mukwonago at 6:35 p.m.
In Division 2, Beaver Dam plays Hortonville at 1:35 p.m.
In Division 5, Black Hawk battles Fall River at 9:05 a.m.
