Marquette County hunter found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound, officials say
TOWN OF NEWTON, Wis. — A Marquette County man was found dead Saturday evening of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, sheriff’s officials said.
Marquette County Coroner Thomas Wastart said 57-year-old Dan Sonnenberg, of the Town of Oxford, was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. Saturday after his body was found in a ground-blind, officials said.
Sonnenberg was hunting on his father’s land near County Road E in the Town of Newton, northeast of Westfield, Wastart said.
Another person was found dead around 5:50 p.m. Saturday in an elevated deer stand in the town of Westfield, officials said. It was determined the individual died of natural causes.
