Mark S. Edwards
Mark S. Edwards, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Meriter Park Hospital. He was born on Aug. 23, 1952, in Shell Lake, Wis., the son of Donald and Lois (Huerth) Edwards. Mark graduated from La Follette High School in 1970. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Wright on Oct. 7, 1972. Mark owned and operated Bio-Taxidermy. He was an award winning taxidermist who mounted fish and birds, having many on public display. Mark was admired … by his family, friends and customers for his craftsmanship in creating lifelike rendering of wildlife. Mark grew up loving archery, hunting, fishing and having pets. He was well known for his expert knowledge in many areas, especially biology and taxonomy. Mark enjoyed time with his grandchildren, his pets (2 rescued cats and reptiles), and watching football, especially with his family and friends. He had a witty sense of humor that people loved. Mark is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Corey (Kristina) Edwards and their children, Evelyn and Cora; son, Eric (Nichole) Edwards and their children, Madeline, Malachi and Emerson; a sister, Marlys (Larry) Robertson; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wright; four brothers-in-law, Les Wright, Dale (Ellen) Wright, Brian Wright and Carl (Shiela Steensland) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m, on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 with Rev. Bob Goodsell presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
