Mark “Pete” Wagner
Mark P. “Pete” Wagner, 75, of Glen Haven, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at UW Hospitals & Clinics, Madison, Wisconsin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington, Wisconsin, which will begin with the Firefighter’s Last Call. Fr. John Meinholz will officiate. Burial will be held at Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven Township, at a later date. In honoring Mark’s wishes, there will be no visitation held before the mass. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon in the church basement. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Mark was born on June 10, 1942 at the home farm in rural Glen Haven, the son of Anthony H. and Anne M. (Breuer) Wagner. Mark graduated from Bloomington High School in 1960. After graduation Mark began working at Pride Seed Company until March 1978. He signed up for the National Guard in 1964 where he served for six years. In April of 1978 he went to work for Glen Haven Township where he worked until his retirement in August of 2008. Mark enjoyed motorcycle trips each year with his brothers and friends, going to his cabin in Spooner, WI, ice fishing, basketball games, helping farmers with fall harvest, and spending time on the family farm.
Mark is survived by his mother, Anne; eleven siblings, Richard “Dick” (Delores), Carole (Robert) Sturmer, Timothy, Thomas (Diane), Susan (Nick) Gotto, Charles (Marilyn), Liz (Greg Fangel) Wagner, Roger (Julie), Dennis, Barbara (Jeff) Thornton, and Donald; aunt, Agatha Breuer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony; and two nephews, Joshua Gotto and Bill Thornton.
