Marjorie “Marge” Quinn
MADISON-Marjorie “Marge” Quinn, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at her home. She was born on May 16, 1925, in Endeavor, the daughter of Jasper and Clara (Liske) York. Marge married James Quinn in 1942. She worked for various floral shops in Madison. Marge was known for being a great cook, and often shared her talent with her family. She was an animal lover. Marge especially loved her dogs, Little John and Raggs; and her bird, Sunny. Marge and James were charter members of Lake Edge United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Gary) Oliver; granddaughter, Lori (partner, Leslee) Spatola and great-grandson, Andrew (Sara) Spatola and their children, Lydia and Layla, great-grandson, Tony (friend, Jennifer) Spatola and his daughter, Mady, and great-grandson, Bobby, Quintin and Michal; granddaughter, Lisa (Ross) Jahn and great-grandchildren, Ryan (fiancé, Ashley) and Kelly; grandson, Don (Sue) Bollinger-Brown, and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Paige; sister-in-law, Virginia York; many nieces and nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and two brothers, Eldon and Doug.
Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. A luncheon will follow the service. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. A thank you to Meadowmere Assisted Living Center, which was her home for the past seven years, and the great staff who cared for her all these years. A special thank you to Heather, who was her caregiver and special friend. We couldn’t have done it without you.
