Marion B. Mace
TOWN OF ELBA — Marion B. Mace age 89 died on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus.
She was born on March 28, 1923 in Plymouth, to Alvin and Leila (Hiller) Burgdorff. Marion was married to Harold Mace on June 5, 1948 in Beaver Dam. She was formerly employed at the Singer Co. in Beaver Dam. Marion also farmed with her husband and was seasonally employed during the canning season. She was a nurses’ aide at the Columbus Community Hospital for five years.
Marion enjoyed cake decorating for her family and others. She held cake decorating classes in her home. She enjoyed her flowers and crocheting, often selling her handmade items. Marion loved the time spent with Harold when they fished the many lakes in the area. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reeseville.
Survivors include her son, Timothy (Sandra Gosnell) of Columbus; five grandchildren, Jessika, Tierney, Christopher, Robert, Matthew; four great grandchildren, Riley, Leah, Kaden, James; two sisters, Lois Jezyk of Beaver Dam and Betty Riggs of Indiana; her best friend, “Skeeter”, a dear neighbor, Joyce Balliette; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 2002; a son, David in 1965.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Reeseville. Pastor Matthew Martin will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
