Marilyn J. Gibson
JANESVILLE— Marilyn J. Gibson, age 70, of Janesville, died on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center.
She was born in Moline, IL on April 17, 1943, the daughter of Harold and Myrtle (Nelson) Schrage. She had been employed by An*Ser Services for over 20 years, and was an Avon rep. for over 30 years. Marilyn was past president of the Roosevelt Chapter of the Rock County 4-H, and was active in First Congregational UCC. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She dearly loved her pets.
She is survived by her 2 children, Heather Gibson of Ankeny, IA and Sean (Ann) Gibson of Inver Grove Heights, MN; 3 grandchildren: Makenzie Gibson, Carter Gibson and Nicolas Gibson; 3 sisters: Karen (Ken) Kolls of Harvard, IL, Anita Ryan of Delavan and Kathy (David) Benoy of Augusta, GA; 3 brothers: Bill Schrage of Laramie, WY, Joel (Linnea) Kooistra of Woodstock, IL and John (Kay) Kooistra of Tucson, AZ; and special aunt, Juanita (Larry) Knowles of Beloit. She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, John and Arlene Kooistra who raised her from the age of 9; and brother-in-law, Howard Ryan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. Dan Davis officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME. Lasting memorials may be made to the Rock County Human Society.
