Marian Morse

Marian Morse, age 99, passed away February 26, 2017 at the Cottage CareCenter in Mauston, WI.

She was born on February 10, 1918 in Whitewater, WI to John and Ida August. Her twin sister, Mary, was born on the 9th! She married George Morse and together they raised four children, Patricia, Larry, Barbara, and Gary. Marian was a homemaker and she and her husband farmed in southern WI for many years. They left there in 1960 and moved to Mauston. While George drove truck for Werner, she was busy taking care of their family. After George’s death in 1989, she moved next door to her son Larry who lived nearby. She was always busy, babysitting grandchildren and great children, baking pies for everyone, sewing caps for her grandson David , traveling to San Diego, CA to visit her daughter Barb,to Denver to see her son Gary, and hosting Xmas dinners for her family which had grown considerably over the years. She loved to sit by her kitchen window and watch all the birds at her bird feeders outside.In 2014 she moved to the Cottage Care Center in Mauston where she remained until her death. Marian will always be remembered for her kindness, her smiles and laughter, her love for her family, and genuine goodness.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara (James) Kirschner, son Gary (Lynne) Morse, son-in-law Leo Anderson, her grandchildren David, Diane, Jill, Lori, Tony, Mark, Tom and Pam,numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, sister-in -law Hazel, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George, daughter Patricia Anderson, son Larry Morse, daughter-in-law Barb Morse, granddaughter Julie Ferguson, grandson Scott Morse,twin sister Mary Bray, sisters Muriel Lindquist and Mabel Timm, and brother Henry August.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Crandall Funeral Home, 123 Elm St, Mauston, where friends may call from 9:30 am until time of service, with interment immediately following at Rose Cemetery on Cemetery Rd, Mauston. A lunch will be served afterwards at United Methodist Church, 420 Suszycki Dr, Mauston, WI.
