Mari L. Brown
Madison – Mari L. Brown, age 58, of Madison, died on Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
She was born on May 17, 1955 in Madison, the daughter of Clarence and Vivian (Kingswan) Brown. Mari was an enrolled tribal member of the Ho-Chunk Nation. She attended Middleton High School and Madison East High School. She was married twice and blessed with nine children.
Mari was a charter member of the Capitolaires Drum and Bugle Corps and modeled for the Beautiful People Modeling Agency. She loved cooking, and having family over for Sunday gatherings. She also loved watching movies.
She is survived by her nine children: Kwamar Brown, Wilbert “Ray” (Heather) Chatman, Amber Chatman, Samuel Chatman, Turquoise (Jasson) Howell, Michael Chatman, Arlissa “Jade” Chatman, Jordan “JR” Applebee and Sapphire “Tyler” Applebee; 10 grandchildren; siblings: Anthony “Tony” (Donna) Kingswan, Lori Jeanne Gamble, Jon F. Brown and Liane Joy Brown; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 1 Speedway Road, Madison.
