Margaret “Peggy” Piazza

MADISON-Margaret “Peggy” (Chamberlain) Piazza, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Agrace Hospice, with family by her side.

Peggy was born April 18, 1927, in Madison, the daughter of Clyde and Hazel Chamberlain. She graduated from Madison East in 1945. Peggy Married Joseph J. Piazza shortly after World War II, and raised nine children. She worked numerous jobs throughout the years, while having been employed by her brother, Bud at “Buds House of Sandwiches.” Her favorite job was working at Kohl’s Department Store, as this ensured that she could provide gifts to family and friends she loved. Our mother always remarked of Westmorland and her beautiful home, being the “Best Ever” to raise her children, there she lived for over 60 years, opening her door and heart to their friends.

Peggy enjoyed fishing with her bothers, Bud and Harry, loved caring for her yard, attending to her flower and vegetable gardens and entertaining for family and friends at pool side gatherings. She enjoyed her water aerobics class for over 16 years. The friends she came to know meant a lot to her. Our mother was a caring and loving person who always found joy in helping others.

Peggy is survived by her sister, Catherine McCarthy; children, Tara Middlekauff, Cathy Piazza, Tony Piazza, Lenny Piazza, Jan (Steven) Wells, Patty Piazza, Greg Piazza and Tammy (Larry) Stanek; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 “great-great grandchildren;” along with many nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hazel Chamberlain; her children’s father, Joseph Piazza; her son, Joey; her brothers, Bud and Harry Chamberlain; sisters, Patty Chamberlain, Mary Pavlinek and Joyce DeWesse; son-in-law, John Middlekauff; step-grandson, B.J. O’Mara; and grandson, Ryan Middlekauff.

Committal services will be held at RESURRECTION CATHOLIC CEMETERY CHAPEL, 2705 Regent St., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Thursday, March 2, 2017. For all of our mother’s family and friends a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the LAZY OAF LOUNGE, 1617 N. Stoughton Rd., (Hwy 51), Madison, immediately following the service.

The Family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, Agrace HospiceCare, and I Care Services for their amazing thoughtfulness, care and compassion.
