Margaret O. Andler

Margaret O. Andler age 102, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Columbus. She was born on February 23, 1910 in the Town of Hampden to Nicholas and Mary (Link) Kranz. She was married to Otto G. Andler on August 29, 1934 in East Bristol. Margaret was a devoted wife and mother. She was a good neighbor and friend to all, young or old alike. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. Margaret spent several memorable years working at the St. Jerome School lunch program. She volunteered at the Columbus Care Center (now Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center) for many years. She enjoyed baseball, gardening and playing cards. Margaret was a Red Cross blood donor for many years. She was an avid scrap book creator for family members of various subjects of interest long before today’s scrap booking became popular. She could be referred to as the family historian. Margaret was a very active member of St. Jerome Parish and Altar Society. She especially enjoyed the ‘Granny’s Kitchen’ for 24 years at the Sugar Plum Fair.

urvivors include her two sons, Jerry (Kathy) of Columbus and John (Sue) of Beaver Dam; her two daughters, Kathryn (Tom) Cullen and Helen Rose both of Columbus; 12 grandchildren, Gina Zolezynski, Brook (Angie) Andler, Tegan (Karen) Andler, Troy Andler, Michael Cullen, Joseph (Kathy Ladwig) Cullen, Teresa Dye, Scott (Traci) Rose, Dawn (Buddy) Fennell, Elizabeth (Robert) Jens, Sarah (Grant) Frautschi, John T. (Sarah Baerenwald) Andler; many great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Selje of Randolph; two brothers-in-law, George Andler of Columbus and Robert (Charleen) Andler of Rio; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1978; four brothers, Art, Oscar, Harold and Elmer Kranz; one sister, Theresa St. John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at ST JEROME CATHOLIC CHURCH, Columbus. Rev Steve Kortendick will officiate. Interment will be in St. Jerome Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the church on Friday, and from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Jerome Parish, Columbus Community Hospital, or the Columbus Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
