Man with infant in car arrested for 6th OWI, officials say
LAKE DELTON, Wis. — Antonio Lira, 40, of Lake Delton was arrested Friday around 6 a.m. after a Sauk County deputy stopped him for driving with an expired registration near US Highway 21 in the village of Lake Delton, officials said in a release.
According to the release, officials also had prior knowledge that an unlicensed driver was operating the vehicle.
Lira was driving with an adult female passenger and an infant child in the vehicle, officials said.
When the deputy stopped the vehicle, Lira allegedly showed signs of impairment, and field sobriety tests were administered, the release said.
In response to the evidence gathered, Lira was arrested and allegedly charged for 6th offense OWI with a passenger under 16 years old, 6th offense of operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration with a passenger under 16 years old and misdemeanor bail jumping, officials said.
According to the release, Lira was taken to the Sauk County Jail and will appear in the Sauk County Circuit Court.
