Man with gun frightens shoppers in road-rage incident, police say

A Madison couple was left shaken after a man with a gun used his car to block them at an east Madison restaurant Thursday night, police said.

Madison police said a man and woman, both 27, had just finished some Christmas shopping at 8:30 p.m. and were about to get something to eat at the Culver’s on East Towne Boulevard.

Police said the motorist used to his car to pin the couple’s vehicle in at the Culver’s drive-thru. The man brandishing a handgun yelled: “Do you wanna go? Do you wanna do this here?”

The man told police he may have inadvertently cut the armed man off as they drove to the restaurant. The victims called police as the angry motorist drove off, the report said.

Police said the driver with a gun was described as white or Hispanic, between 18 and 22 years old, and was wearing a flat-brim baseball cap. He was driving a newer gray Dodge Avenger.
