Man who was high driving school bus sentenced
MADISON, Wis. — A man accused of being high while driving a school bus in Verona last September has pleaded guilty Friday to one count against him.
Matthew Frings, 26, of Mount Horeb, was arrested Sept. 15 after Dane County sheriff’s deputies stopped the bus. Deputies received three reports just after 7 a.m. of a Badger Bus driving erratically in the city and town of Verona. Frings was slurring his speech and had to support himself on the side of the bus. A 10-year-old was a passenger inside.
Frings pleaded guilty to first-offense operating while intoxicated Friday. He was sentenced to one month in jail and a $600 fine. His driver’s license was also revoked for 14 months.
