Man tries to take 6-year-old boy in Madison
Child ran home, is safe with parents
MADISON, Wis. — University of Wisconsin police have detained a suspect they think tried to take a 6-year-old boy Friday.
Police took the man into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Police said a child was approached by this man about 4:30 p.m. in the Eagle Heights housing community.
The man asked the child to go with him, but the child ran home and is now safe with his parents.
The man is described as 5 foot 10 inches tall with black hair and a gray scruffy beard.
He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a long-sleeved blue shirt with white stripes and jeans.
Police said they believe the public isn’t in danger.
