Man tried to entice boy, police say

McFarland police are investigating a possible attempted child enticement case after a teen reported an incident to police.

A 14-year-old boy told police he was walking near the intersection of Ridge Road and Valley Drive at 9:20 p.m. Sunday when a silver or gray 4-door sedan stopped behind him. Police said the car might have been a Toyota Prius.

The teen told police he had seen the car pass him twice before stopping.

He said a man got out of the car and asked the boy if he needed a ride. The boy said he didn’t respond and continued walking.

The boy said the man then began walking quickly toward him, prompting the boy to run until he could no longer see the man or his car.

The man is described as white, older, with a gray goatee and possibly a bald spot on the top of his head.
