Man taken into custody after standoff
Police: Man implied he had weapon
MADISON, Wis. — A man was taken into custody after a standoff ended peacefully in Reedsburg Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the 200 block of South Preston Avenue at 4:45 a.m. to check on the welfare of a man in the area.
The man refused to meet with officers and implied he had a weapon, according to police. The man refused to communicate with officers, and a perimeter was set up around the residence.
The man voluntarily climbed out of his first-floor window at 7:15 a.m. and he was taken into custody. No weapons were found. He was taken for a mental evaluation.
