Man seriously injured after hit-and-run Tuesday night, police say

MADISON, Wis. A man is recovering from serious injuries after a hit-and-run Tuesday night on Madison’s north east side.

It happened around 9:45 p.m. on North Thompson Drive near Sycamore Park.

Police said a person in a car was speeding when they hit a motorcyclist near a roundabout.

The 48-year-old male motorcyclist told officers the driver of the vehicle got out of the vehicle and ran away from the scene.

The victim sustained serious injuries an had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance, but is expected to survive.

Traffic around the scene had to be rerouted for several hours as officers processed the scene.
