Man sentenced in 2020 drunken driving crash that killed motorcyclist in western Dane Co.
MADISON, Wis. — A Prairie du Sac man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle in connection with a 2020 crash in western Dane County.
Gabriel Bare, 24, was also sentenced to five years of extended supervision, online court records show. He received credit for 594 days already served behind bars.
As part of his sentence, Bare will be required to go through anger management treatment and will not be allowed to use or possess alcohol.
Bare pleaded guilty in May to a charge stemming from the Aug. 6, 2020, crash that killed 46-year-old Troy Bronk of Sun Prairie. Bronk, who was riding a motorcycle at the time of the crash, died after Bare hit him while he was stopped at a stop light in the town of Springfield.
Prosecutors dropped a second felony charge as part of Bare’s plea agreement.
