Man seeking escort robbed at gunpoint in own home, police say

A man who man arrangements to spend time with an escort was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday in his own home, police said.

Madison police said officers are investigating an incident in which a 29-year-old man living on the 3100 block of Maple Valley Drive was robbed in his apartment.

Police said the incident happened at about 3:30 a.m. A silver handgun was displayed and a man and woman left the apartment with the victim’s wallet, cell phone, cash and several other items, according to the report.

Police provided updated information Tuesday including that the man who was robbed had contacted a woman claiming to be an escort on a website. When the woman arrived, a man with a gun was with her.

The victim was not injured, police said. The robbery did not appear random.

The woman was described as white, in her 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall weighing about 240 pounds. The man was described as black, 6 feet tall weighing 180 pounds.
