Man saved by Narcan may face drug charges
TOWN OF CROSS PLAINS, Wis. — A 31-year-old Beloit man who was revived by sheriff’s deputies with Narcan early Monday morning may face drug charges, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
Spokesperson Elise Schaffer said deputies were called to a home on Mineral Point Road in the town of Cross Plains at 3:06 a.m. after a woman called 911 to report that her sister’s boyfriend had overdosed and was unresponsive.
Schaffer said deputies gave the man, James R. Amundrud, two doses of Narcan, after which he regained consciousness and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
Schaffer said the Dane County District Attorney’s Office will consider charging the man with heroin possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
