A man who was riding his bike through Demetral Park late Thursday was kicked to the ground and had his wallet stolen by two men, according to Madison police.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Thursday in the park near the 500 block of North Fifth Street.

According to police, the 25-year-old man had interaction with the two men before taking off on his bicycle heading south on the bike path.

The men caught up with him and knocked him off his bicycle, before beating him up and taking his wallet. The men then took off on their own bicycles.

The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Police are looking for two men, One of the men is described as a black man, between 17 and 22 year old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a slender build, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white print on the front.

The second man was also described as being between 17 and 22 years old. Both men were riding mountain bikes when the incident occurred. Anyone that knows anything about the incident is asked to call Madison police.
