Man reported missing crashes car, deputies say
Man taken to hospital with minor injuries
TOWN OF ARGYLE, Wis. — A man reported missing and endangered by police in Ottawa, Illinois was injured when he crashed his car in Lafayette County.
Lafayette County sheriff’s deputies were called to State Highway 81 in the town of Argyle at 10:50 a.m. Sunday for a report of a single-car crash.
Investigators said the car, driven by Stanley Twait, 86, was traveling west on Highway 81, struck an embankment, vaulted into the air and landed off the road. The car went down an embankment, through a wooded area and came to rest on a tree stump.
Twait was taken to Lafayette Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Rural Medical and the Darlington Fire Department assisted at the scene.
