A Madison man was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at a woman’s face during an argument Tuesday night, according to a release.

Madison police arrested James B. Campbell, 23, after a frightened woman said they had gotten into an argument inside a residence in the 4200 block of Lumley Road, officials said.

The woman told police she was outside trying to leave the residence when Campbell threatened her with a gun, according to the release. She said she had previously been in a relationship with Campbell.

Campbell was arrested in a tentative charge of second-degree reckless endangerment.
