Man missing in rural Lafayette County since Monday found, hospitalized
CUBA CITY, Wis. — Emergency crews in Lafayette County located a man who had been missing since Monday.
Sheriff’s deputies were sent to the 9600 block of County H Thursday for a report of an unattended vehicle. An investigation led officials to begin looking for a 49-year-old man who had not been seen or heard from since Monday evening.
Search crews from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Benton and Cuba City fire departments looked for the man until late in the evening Thursday but could not find him. The search resumed Friday, with crews from the State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources and other local counties joining in.
At around 10:25 a.m., a State Patrol drone team spotted the man. He was rescued and taken to a local hospital. An investigation into his disappearance is ongoing.
