Man killed in truck rollover crash
Speed, alcohol factors in crash, deputies said
TOWN OF WATERLOO, Wis. — A Potosi man was killed when he lost control of his truck on a road in the town of Waterloo on Saturday.
Grant County sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway 133 near Stieger Lane at 4:29 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash.
Investigators said the truck driven by Ricky Eastlick, 48, was traveling north on Highway 133 when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck left the road to the right and then came back to the left, entered the road slightly, went back to the right and off the road into the ditch. Eastlick corrected and turned left again, going back on the road and immediately back to the right, off the road, and into the ditch, according to the report. The front tires caught in the ditch, causing the truck to roll end over end. Deputies said the truck came to rest on its tires facing south along the east side of the road.
Eastlick wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the truck, according to the report. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.
The Potosi Police Department, the Potosi EMS and Potosi Fire Department assisted at the scene.
