Man killed in motorcycle crash in Rock County
Crash happened early Saturday morning
TOWN OF CLINTON, Wis. — A 36-year-old motorcycle rider was killed early Saturday morning in a crash in the Town of Clinton, according to the Rock County Sherriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash, along with Clinton firefighters and EMS, after receiving a report of a crash on south State Highway 140, near East State Line Road, at about 2:33 a.m.
Chad E. Odling, of Harvard, Ill., was riding a 1990 BMW motorcycle headed southbound on the road when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve near East State Line Road. The motorcycle went in and out of the roadway’s gravel shoulder and then into a ditch. The motorcycle went down on its side and hit a culver, which ejected the rider.
Odling was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office said that alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the crash.
