Man killed in crash on Wisconsin 33 near Beaver Dam
BEAVER DAM, Wis. — Wisconsin 33 near Beaver Dam was blocked in both directions Friday because of a fatal crash, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Charles Schultz, 66, died after 19-year-old Jacob Anderson crossed the centerline on Wisconsin 33 and collided with Schultz’s vehicle, according to a news release. Schultz was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, officials said.
The crash was reported around 9:20 a.m. Dispatchers said they received multiple reports about a head-on crash near Hidden Valley Drive in the township of Beaver Dam. This is about 2 1/2 miles east of the city of Beaver Dam.
First responders removed Schultz from inside his vehicle and immediately began life-saving attempts, the release said.
The man was taken by ambulance to meet a medical helicopter but was pronounced dead prior to being transferred by helicopter.
There were no other occupants in his vehicle.
Anderson, the driver of the other vehicle involved, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Wisconsin 33 was blocked for three hours between County Highway A and Thompson Road, a release by the Sheriff’s Office said. The road reopened around 12:40 p.m. Friday.
According to law enforcement officials, the crash is still under investigation.
