A 48-year-old man is dead following a one-car crash in the town of Montrose early Friday morning, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Department.

Dane County deputies said a man, identified by the medical examiner’s office as Mustafa L. Qureshi of Pewaukee, was driving south on County Road PB when he failed to negotiate the intersection at PB and State Highway 69 near Paoli just before 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Deputies said his vehicle went airborne before smashing into a brick retaining wall.

The medical examiner’s office said Qureshi was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the only occupant in the vehicle and died of injuries he suffered in the crash.
