Man injured in construction area of Epic campus
A man was injured when he fell several stories from a scaffolding at Epic Systems Tuesday morning, an official said.
Verona fire Chief Joseph Giver said at 9:33 a.m. a fire crew responded to a report of a person who fell at a section of the Epic campus that is under construction on Northern Lights Road.
The man fell 30 to 40 feet, then called 911 on his cellphone, which caused a bit of confusion in locating him, Giver said.
Giver said the fire department’s ladder was requested to help rescue the man, as it was believed it might be difficult to reach him in the construction area. But he fell onto a roof section that was near a window, which crews were able to use to get him out of the area.
Giver said the man suffered significant injuries but they were not believed to be life threatening.
It wasn’t clear Tuesday afternoon if the man was an Epic employee.
