Man holds 14-year-old at gunpoint during gas station robbery, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A 14-year-old was held at gunpoint Monday night by a man who robbed a Kwik Trip on Madison’s south side, police said.
The man put a handgun to the back of the 14-year-old customer and kept the teen in front of him as he moved toward the counter, according to the release. The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. at the Kwik Trip at 2601 Fish Hatchery Road.
The robber then positioned his weapon under the teen’s arm and pointed it at the clerk, demanding money from the till, officials said. The robber left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The teenager told police he was terrified, according to the release.
A police dog was unable to track down the robber, who is described as white, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He was in his mid-20s with light red or reddish-blonde facial hair, and was wearing a purple or blue skull cap, blue or purple plaid shirt and blue jeans with a lot of rips and holes.
