Man hit, killed by delivery truck in downtown Madison
MADISON, Wis. — A 62-year-old man was killed Wednesday after a delivery truck driver hit him in downtown Madison.
Madison police said the crash happened at 11:55 a.m. in the 300 block of West Washington Avenue, near the intersection with Broom Street.
The victim was reportedly known by people in the area for picking up litter near where he was hit, according to an incident report.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation, which is still ongoing.
