Man fleeing Milwaukee police dies in fiery crash into house
MILWAUKEE — Authorities say a 27-year-old man who was fleeing Milwaukee police died a crash that set both his vehicle and a vacant house on fire.
Police say officers were conducting a drug investigation Saturday afternoon when a suspect they spotted inside the car refused to pull over during an attempted traffic stop.
The high-speed chase ended when the suspect’s car went through a stop sign, collided with an SUV and slid into the house. The car burst into flames and started the house on fire.
Police say the driver of the car died at a hospital. The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries. Their names have not been released.
