Man fires several shots into air following domestic dispute, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said they have arrested a man who fired a handgun into the air several times following a domestic dispute.
At 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Allied Drive, a woman told police she was having an argument outside with her ex-boyfriend, 40-year-old Benjamin Blunt. The victim threatened to call police, then went inside the apartment where she is staying. Several children were inside the residence.
She told police when she looked out the window, Blunt raised a gun above his head and said, “Tell them that,” referring to what she should communicate to police. Then he pulled the trigger, got into his car and drove off. the victim told police.
Police located Blunt later. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree reckless endangerment, being a felon in possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct.
There were no injuries or reported property damage.
