Man facing OWI charge following crash on east side
Police: Madison man lost control of car, slid into light pole
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said a 31-year-old Madison man will face charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after he crashed his car early Thursday morning on the city’s east side.
Police said the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Monona Drive.
According to police, Jason Clemans of Madison was speeding northbound on Monona Drive when he lost control of his car, slid sideways into a curb and hit a light pole.
Police said Clemans ended up in the passenger’s seat, instead of being pinned in the driver’s seat upon impact. Police said Clemans was charged with his first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and admitted to a local hospital for observation.
