Police: Man faces reckless endangerment charges

MADISON, Wis. — A 21-year-old man faces charges after he accidentally fired his gun and the bullet went through his neighbor’s wall, according to Madison police.
The incident happened just after 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Lake Point Drive.
According to police, Scott Malterer was field stripping a handgun in his apartment when it fired. A caller in a nearby apartment called police after he awoke to a loud noise, and realized a bullet had gone through his wall.
No one was injured in the incident. Malterer faces charges for endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
